Candles with Angel by Mary Wood

Judge 1 Comments:Very nice image and arrangement. The flames add a lot for this image.

Judge 2 Comments:I like the composition a lot, might have pulled the angel closer to the camera. Great capture of the flame in the lighting.

Judge 3 Comments:Simplicity of arrangement and use of only 3 colors makes a compelling visual impact. The exposure of the candlelight is exquisite.

Clockmaker's Workbench by Bill Grisaitis

Judge 1 Comments:At first glance I really liked the unusual crop, however, the white on far right-hand side drew my eye off of the page. Very nice soft lighting and warm tones. One of my favorite.

Judge 2 Comments:Great cropping & lighting. Image is just a little too busy, no real central point of focus.

Judge 3 Comments:The image has 2 halves, so to speak, which weakens it. By cropping out the right 1/3 rd of the image, (at the protractor) the impact would be much stronger.

Vase on a Sill by Tom May

Judge 1 Comments:Very nice composition. The image is burned out in the highlights on shelf however somehow this did not bother me because it gave me a sense of pure light flooding the area. I would however, like to see a little more highlight detail in the wall where light IS too hot.

Judge 2 Comments:The simplicity and the great lighting of this image give it impact.

Judge 3 Comments:In viewing any image, the eye goes to the lightest and brightest area of an image, and in this case it is the blown out area where the shelf meets the wall.

Fun at the Pub by Bradley Condiff

Judge 1 Comments:Nice composition, a lot of time was taken to the details in this composition.

Judge 2 Comments:The composition is excellent, the colors work well together and all the elements fit to make this a strong image.

Judge 3 Comments:Nicely composed image; needs more WOW, element of surprise, or dramatic lighting for instance.
OrlandoCameraClub > Greengrass Music by Lori Aulin

Judge 1 Comments:Nice vanishing point and composition. Two things that could have made this image better is 1.) not having the break in the extreme upper right-hand corner (crop closer) and 2.) the highlight on wood on the top of piano pulled my eye off of the page.

Judge 2 Comments:Great use of depth of field, though image doesn't make sense except for the play on words in title.

Judge 3: CommentsWould be more powerful if the entire image were in focus. Piano is cropped too tight for the title. White keys are blown out.

OrlandoCameraClub > Another Day Another Yuan by Dan Foreman

Judge 1 Comments:I really like the mix of colors and textures. The distortion in the door was a bit of a distraction. Good soft lighting.

Judge 2 Comments:All the different textures and colors make this image interesting but somewhat stagnate too.

Judge 3 Comments:It's a grab shot, with no real arrangement.
OrlandoCameraClub > What's For Dinner? by Nene Everling

Judge 1 Comments:Distortion was a detraction. A little too much filter effect in Photoshop.

Judge 2 Comments:I think the image would have been stronger if it was a straight print and nothing done to it creatively.

Judge 3 Comments:Photoshop filter detracts from an otherwise interesting composition. No distinctive light source.
OrlandoCameraClub > Smooth Shave by Bill Carpenter

Judge 1 Comments:Top of brush cut off, distortion in brown bottle. A little too busy, I don't know what to look at.

Judge 2 Comments:I would have liked to have seen more of the girl's face, and maybe stagger the centered elements. I like the use of the different shaving items and the color lends itself to the old time theme.

Judge 3 Comments:A captivating idea; composition is weakened by too many elements--bottle competes with brushstand, thus no central focus.
