OrlandoCameraClub > Boardwalk at Mead Gardens by: Bill Monroe

Judge 1: The idea of a boardwalk through the woods is only successful if one wants to continue to follow it. This photograph makes the viewer want to continue down the path. The odd board angles compared to the path itself, adds to the impact. Great picture. Judge 2: Good sense of flow of the boardwalk, it's about the intricate angled curves and the photographer did well to capture that. like the dark tunnel at end of the boardwalk, good placement of it. Would do better to emphasize it even more, maybe with some PS work in the contrasts of the area. The bright white board is distracting, try dodging it some. The color is a bit odd (overly blue shadows, overly red wood) maybe too much saturation slider? Judge 3: Good idea, but doesn’t move me. Try moving camera higher or lower.
OrlandoCameraClub > Urban Looking Glass by: Rob Broome

Judge 1: Perhaps a darker exposure would have created a more breathtaking result. The light at the top of the dome is overexposed and leads one's eye to that spot. Remember to check the histogram for proper liighting in tougher lighting situations. Judge 2: Great feel for the curves, and placement of the center of their convergence - good eye. Love the pattern of the curves - obviously the point - don't think the building behind enhances that. The pattern on pattern may be intended, but somehow, is too much, and it detracts from the curves. Is there another viewpoint without the building, or maybe a selective focus to blur it, or a little dynamite maybe? The harsh light is ... harsh. The sky is partiartly blown out, ok if all blown maybe, or all blown as background for the curves, or ? Judge 3: Good composition. Rich colorful blue sky and yellow building would have made this great!
OrlandoCameraClub > A Rhapsody In Blue by: Donald Newton

Judge 1: This is an excellent use of light and composition! The depth of field and use of manual mode indicate that the photographer knows lighting and can capture it. Super shot! Judge 2: Great eye, angling the diagonals that way. Very nice proportions of sky/bldg and frame divisions. Nice simplicity and graphic quality. Not a thing in the picture that doesn't enhance the idea. Good mood, great idea to blue filter it - nice unity. Nice blue shadows, but very nice detail. Mabe one little nit pick, maybe the blue shadows could be even darker? Maybe not. Judge 3: Great perspective and use of color.
OrlandoCameraClub > Stairway by: ????

Judge 1: Without exif data this picture is perhaps just another point & shoot shot. The idea of the shot is understood and would have been much better at a slightly lower angle in a warmer light. Judge 2: technically very good. Nice control of the focal plane (I think: hard to tell with small jpg). Nice lighting and shadows with detail. Nice harmony in the colors and finally someone avoids oversaturation ( agreat temptation with those bricks - but good job not to). Nice editing out exteraneous stuff. Not sure exactly what it's about, the stairs leading up?, the arched curve? the lower brick steps? The shadows on the wall? Pretty form but somehow want something more (isn't that just like life?). I know the door is in deep shadow, and it clearly isn't about the door, but the steps take us there, so I find it distracing that the door is half cut off. Maybe all of the door would give us that something more? Judge 3: Good focus and texture, but lack central object. Shadows detract.
OrlandoCameraClub > A Path Less Taken by:Jami McCutcheon
Judge 1: This is a subject you just don't see every day. Nice capture. More color (background or foreground) would have added to the composition and creativity. Judge 2: very funny. Don't we all love a funny photo. Good filling of the frame, placement in the frame and cropping. Like the crop of the front wheel. Gives it a certain sad downward movement. Photographer did a good job of putting the bike in the woods setting, yet isolating it with blurred background. The seat needs just a touch more headroom (ironic). Judge 3: Great storyteller. I like in-your-face mood created by tight crop, but stepping back or to the side may open up the imagination of the viewer more.
OrlandoCameraClub > A Cross The Occoquan by: Nene Everling

Judge 1: The background is too busy for the foreground, or visa versa. The lighting and shutter speed are perfect, but one's eye wanders trying to find a central subject. Too busy. Too much to see in one photograph. Remember the K.I.S.(Keep It Simple) rule. Judge 2: technicall overall fairly good I guess though is it me or are the pilings and leaves soft? Is that strange black stuff some sort of artifacting on the lwr rt? Maybe not, hard to tell on small web picts. Cudos for the unusual look at a waterfall, interesting angle and view, for an unusual perspective. Nice job of making the cotton candy waterfall just a bit different. The sliver of green foliage on the right may be too slivery. On the whole the image is a bit confusing though. Judge 3: Primary subject needs to be more clearly defined.
OrlandoCameraClub > Cruising The Grand Canal by: Lisa Goins

Judge 1: Good use of black & white. A definitive subject by use of cropping would have made this a tighter shot If this was to be a panorama/scenic shot, don't create a definitive foreground subject, then expect the viewer to see the overall picture. This was a great potential winning idea. Judge 2: Division of the frame with the horizon and the verticles (tower and the rower) are fine. Placement of the dark gonola is fine - off center coming into the frame. The darkness of the gondola and the figures make an effective focal point - well done that. Great to get all that at a moving scene. Tough, harsh midday light. Although the range of values is good, and the blacks seem nicely deep, The blown out sky and low contrast midtone are too dominant. Unfortunate that this pict wasn't taken in better light. (is the gondolier showing the size of a fish he caught?) Judge 3: Like the composition and the way you handled extremely harsh light.
OrlandoCameraClub > man versus nature by: Christian Mildh

Judge 1: The perspective of this shot is wonderful! The photo becomes too busy with all the 'background' subjects (birds, moon, etc). Great use of composition. Use a more subtle color or just more colors in general, as to not overwhelm the viewer. Judge 2: Love the statement. Great time to use electric, glowing color - reinforces the power line concept. Not a fan of posterization but absolutely perfect for this for same reason. Good composition - good use of diagonals, could second guess where they run and converge, and the symetrical balance of the three main elements (moon, pole/ bird), but won't: it's good. Like the gradations, possibly just a touch overdone. Keeping the moon subtle, gives us a pleasant discovery - very nice. Also nice echo of shape of the circular thing. However, don't understand the spot light on the circular thing (transformer? KFC bucket of wings?). Brightest part of the picture as if it's the most important. Would like to see the birds, or big bird, equally as featured, ie; brighter. Also, the cropped wing of the bird is not good. Isn't he what it's all about? Tell him to fly back again closer. Judge 3: Great use of processing to enhance and beautify. Spots and ring in left sky distracting.
OrlandoCameraClub > Church Rafters by: Bradley Condiff

Judge 1: A deeper depth of field and a tighter crop would give the illusion of being in the building, rather than just viewing a picture of the building from the inside. The concept of a black & white foreground versus a color background gives this photograph a high composition mark. Nice subject. Judge 2: Great sense of depth. Keep going back and forth about the placement of the door and boat in the middle of the pict. The three classic church windows make a case for it, the off center beams, diagonal shadows could balance it or make a case against it. Might be better with fully centered, static formal balance, might not. I think I'm ok with it, how about you? Love the linear beams, shadows. Great feel of the decay and the bright ocean beyond. Must have waited for the ship, but might be even better without it. Does it add to the concept: the decaying building with bright tropics beyond? Sky is overexposed, tough lighting - good HDR candidate. Patch of light mid lft. from window is distracting, needs dodging. Judge 3: Nice composition and exposure.
