OrlandoCameraClub > Tools of the Trade by Winnie Gustafson

Judge 1 Comments:Too many interesting images to look at, my eye got confused as to the main subject. Perhaps too many different texture effects for one image.

Judge 2 Comments:The perspective is off, not sure what I was looking at, the horse shoes in middle of image are bigger than man.

Judge 3 Comments:This is a collage, rather than a still life; The individual elements are interesting, but the arrangement, and choice of scale do not work. Tool box is blown out. A more compelling image might be a closeup of the horsheshoer's hand working on the horse's hoof, with the toolbox (in real scale) nearby.
OrlandoCameraClub > African Queen by Ken Blye

Judge 1 Comments:I like the lighting and shadows in head dress. Would have been nice to have a larger image that would display larger.

Judge 2 Comments:Lighting is good, the use of three elements is good but would have arranged them differently, for better understanding of their depth.

Judge 3 Comments:Good visual impact; dramatic lighting enhances the subject.
OrlandoCameraClub > Ready for the spa by Michelle Marsan

Judge 1 Comments:Nice lighting and care taken to arranging this image but just not exciting to me. Lighting the candles would have been nice.

Judge 2 Comments:Nice color and very sharp image, would have tried to not have everything so symmetrical and might have been interesting to light the candles.

Judge 3 Comments:The weakest link here is the white background. A more powerful choice would be one of the colors taken directly from the arrangement. Composition would be improved by staggering size and location of candles.
OrlandoCameraClub > Crypt Keeper by Christian Mildh

Judge 1 Comments:Everything leaning to right gave it an unbalanced feel. Nice tones, colors and subtle images.
Judge 2 Comments:Excellent play on words for theme. Lighting is excellent and creative effects fit the theme & mood of the image. Also like the key stoning of crypt.

Judge 3 Comments:Does not really qualify as a Still Life . Aside from that, in order to make a stronger composition, crop off left portion of wall.
OrlandoCameraClub > I'm Hungry by Cindy Murray

Judge 1 Comments:After reading the title, the image made more sense to me. Would have like to seen it cropped tighter on bottom, right-hand corner, eliminating the edge of table.

Judge 2 Comments:The composition is excellent, the cropping of the person's upper body is unusual but it works. The layout of the subjects is interesting and the colors work well together. Good use of depth of field.

Judge 3 Comments:This image made me smile.
OrlandoCameraClub > Honorable Mention
Given In Abundance by Jami McCutcheon

Judge 1 Comments: I really like the soft focus that f/3.5 achieved in the background, to contrast the subject that is tack sharp. The slight rim light on grapes give the image dimension. One of my favorite entries.

Judge 2 Comments:The simplicity of the bowl and fruit is striking. Though a little static maybe adding another element would have helped grab your eye.

Judge 3 Comments:Nicely composed , technically competent; no WOW factor.
OrlandoCameraClub > Indian Children by Beverly Morton-Goble

Judge 1 Comments:Line on right side of background and something on the extreme left edge is distracting. It' the little things that make a big difference, especially on a still image where you can control every aspect.

Judge 2 Comments:Nice idea, but maybe using more levels for the subjects would have made it more interesting. Feather is a nice touch but quite large in perspective of the subjects. Line at back right of image is distracting.

Judge 3 Comments:Nicely composed , technically competent; no WOW factor.
OrlandoCameraClub > Grandma's Desk by Bruce Frutchey

Judge 1 Comments:Refection on extreme top of desk was distracting. Would have liked to see more of the book on bottom and perhaps at not such a high angle. Red string on right should be straight. Lighting not even across the desk.

Judge 2 Comments:Very nice lighting and the mood is excellent. Also, all the items fit together nicely for theme.

Judge 3 Comments:Too many elements competing for attention. An improvement might be to crop in tighter, and focus more specifically on one subject, for instance the book, so that we could read the text, which brings us in to the "story".
